Since graduating from drawing on the walls as a child. I have worked as a practicing artist inspired by the images of my local community in both Sydney and other locations around Australia.

Through my artwork I challenge myself to create imaginary worlds and iconic imagery. I am inspired by my local history and also I am a keen traveller journeying to explore world's architecture, art, history and landscape. Often I return with several sketchbooks and photographs that capture images I continue to develop in my artwork.

In this project, Calder's Camels (part of my Master of Teaching degree at University of Sydney 2006), I was interested in developing a project that would capture the imagination of male students, who can find it difficult to engage with a creative mode. My aim was to explore and create something that involved working with a physically construction method.
