GLAZE ARCHIVE

Glaze is a glassy coating applied to pottery before the final firing stage. Glazes have the functional role of making pots waterproof for domestic use, but can also be one of the most exciting and technical parts of the ceramic process. Glaze is typically applied in liquid form and can produce a number of colours and textures.

Glazes can be used to create highly decorative pieces, but I prefer to use muted organic colours that suit my hand built forms.
